Two things that solve most questions
Run the check first
Open Clone Space on the space in question and read the report. It is free, it changes nothing, and it tells you exactly what the copy will and will not include: how many pages, how deep the hierarchy goes, how many permission assignments exist, and what is skipped. Most surprises are answered there before they happen.
A stopped copy usually restarts itself
If progress has stalled, the app retries on its own every few minutes, and there is a Resume now button if you would rather not wait. A copy that has genuinely failed says so, with the reason. It will not sit there pretending.
If you do write to us
Please include:
- the space key
- roughly how many pages are in the space
- what the app said, as exactly as you can
We cannot see your content, so what the app told you is what we have to work with.
What the app will not do
Worth knowing before you ask, because these are deliberate rather than missing:
- It never deletes anything. The app holds no delete permission of any kind. If you want to start a copy over, delete the new space yourself in Confluence and run it again.
- It never modifies the original. The only pages it edits are ones it created itself, minutes earlier, in the new space.
- Page comments are not copied in this version.
- Version history is not copied. Confluence does not expose page history for copying, so copied pages start at version 1.
- Drafts, archived and trashed pages are not copied. Only current pages.
